Rix, Ruth Lorraine
Ruth Lorraine Rix, 90, of Olin, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 24, St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mears officiating. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call form 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Chapman's in Clarence.
Survivors include her husband, Lester; son, Gary (JaneAnn) Rix of Olin; two daughters, Reatha Scheibeler of Atlantic and Donna (Darrell) Jordan of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Kristen Morrison, Laura (Will) Thomsen, Dennis (Angela) Jordan, David Jordan, David (Kristie Berntsen) Jordan, Duane (Leigh Ann) Jordan, Allen Rix and
Justin Rix; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Ruth was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Cedar County, to Harry and Alma Slentz Raymond. She married Lester Rix in Oxford Junction on Nov. 21, 1942.
Ruth was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and was a Lend a Hand member and organizer. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and loved to quilt.
