Rita Mae Walter passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the age of 83 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Kim (Terry) Gorsh of Boone, Carma Morrison of Williamsburg and Kelly (Howard) Buck of Pleasant Hill; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gerald (Sala) Knipfer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2015; son, Rodney; grandson, Chad Evans; two brothers, Don Knipfer and Orlin Knipfer; and a sister, Judy Stewart.
Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
Memorials are for HCI Hospice Care Services in Des Moines.
