Rita W. Stahl passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Compass Memorial Hospital in Marengo at the age of 91 years.
She is survived by seven children, Marsha White, Sheri (Garth) Wetjen, Gary (Judy) Stahl all of Williamsburg, Barb (Dennis) Grauer of Oxford, Lori (Tom) Beemer of Iowa City, Stuart (Pam) Stahl of Summerville, SC and Michelle (Doug) Sims of Marengo; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She opened her home and was considered Mom and Grandma to many.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter LouAnn Martinson, a son-in-law Michael White, 2 sisters Helen (Laverne) Newberry and Onie (Bob) Murtha and an infant brother Bobby.
Celebration of life gathering will be Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at St. Mary’s Hall in Williamsburg. There will be a VFW Auxiliary Service at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will be at Pilot Grove Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for the Iburg Poulson VFW Post #8797 Auxiliary and Camp Courageous. Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg is caring for Rita and her family. Messages and tributes may be directed to www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
