Rita Mayer Hult, 84, of Murrieta, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 16, 2016, in Murrieta. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. July 27 at Glendale Cemetery, Washington, Ill.
Survivors include her children, Karen Hult and husband Charles Walcott and David Hult and wife Lisa; brother, Charles Mayer and wife Patricia; two grandsons and a spouse, Dennis and Crystal Hutton Hult and Chad Hult; and three great-grand-children, Adam Hult, Robert Hult and Adelynne Hanley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hult; infant daughter; granddaughter, Anne-Marie Hult; twin infant great-grandchildren; parents, Charles and Mercedes Fralinger Mayer; and brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Dorothy Mayer.
Rita Ann Mayer Hult was born in Gary, Ind., on July 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Charles S. and Mercedes Fralinger Mayer.
She was active in Republican Party politics in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. She was active with the Bloomington-Springfield, Ill., Symphony Guild. She worked for the U.S. Census Bureau, Life Investors Insurance and Merrill Lynch Realty, among other jobs.
