Riis, Betty Ann
Betty Ann Riis, 68, of Marion, entered peacefully into her eternal rest Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, with her loving family by her bedside. Betty's wish was to be cremated. A celebration of Betty's life will be at a later published date, so that her friends and acquaintances can pay their respects to her wonderful and loving memory. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Betty is survived by Douglas Riis, her husband of 53 years; her children, Dean of Des Moines, Vicki Jean of Marion and Rick (Angie) of Grand Prairie, Texas; five grandchildren, Lauren Riis, Jared Riis, Racheal Riis (Dean's children) and Kristian Riis and Kailene Riis (Rick's children; her sisters, Joan Hall of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Geraldine (Henry) Folkerts of Britt.
Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clarence and Julie Baumgartner; her sisters, Darlene Zeigler and Marjorie Johnson; and her brother, Calvin Baumgartner.
Betty's employment included Kmart (sales clerk), Marion True Value (sales and store manager), Garnett Place (food service/Bingo caller), and Keystone Cedars (recently retired and much loved Bingo caller).
