Riffey, Shirley Ann
Shirley Ann Riffey, 73, of Urbana, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. Dorothy Gerr. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial: Urbana Cemetery, Urbana.
Survivors include her husband, Phil, of Urbana; her children, Steve (Kristen) Riffey of Shellsburg, Cindy (Larry) Haars of Urbana and Gail Dyslin of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Stephanie Riffey (Hans Heitmann) of Palo, Jon LeVelle of Tiffin and Tanner Haars of Urbana; a great-grandchild, Nicole Hoffman; and siblings, Dave (Barb) Boyles of Urbana, Chuck (Janice) Boyles of Cedar Rapids, Doris (Delbert) Packingham of Cedar Rapids and Gary Boyles of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are six sisters-in-law, Kaye Ternus of Vinton, Marie Sandage of Conrad, Janet (Don) Stickle of Anamosa, Martha Relf of Arizona, Dee Kriz of Cedar Rapids and Chris Fiebelkorn of Newhall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Denise Ann Riffey; a daughter-in-law, Debra LaRae Riffey; and two brothers, Earl and Leslie.
Shirley was born July 28, 1936, the daughter of Harold and Eula (Mather) Boyles, in Center Point, Iowa. She married Philip Riffey on Feb. 12, 1955, in Urbana.
