Rieniets, William
William Rieniets, 80, of North Liberty, passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, with a visitation one hour before, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.
William John Rieniets was born Feb. 20, 1932, to John and Martha Kruse Rieniets. Bill taught math and sciences at various high schools, including Mount Pleasant, Center Point and then finally Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids. He volunteered to film many of the sporting events at the schools.
Bill spent summers traveling the world. Through his travels, Bill was able to fulfill his passions for history and photography, which he enjoyed sharing with his family and friends.
He will always be lovingly remembered as “Uncle Bill.”
He is survived by his sister, Catherine Beard of Charleston, S.C.; nieces and nephews, Chelon Rieniets of Venice, Fla., Robin (Jeanne) Beard of Alexandria, Va., Jim (Susie) Rieniets of Nashville, Tenn., Lisa (David) Boland of Pascagoula, Miss., and Bettina Beard of Nashville, Tenn.; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and his friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Henry Rieniets.
