Riedesel, Melvin 'Dutch' Rudolph
Funeral services for Melvin “Dutch” Rudolph Riedesel, 90, of Stanwood, formerly of Clarence, who died Saturday, June 4, 2011, will be held Saturday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton.Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow atSt. Paul Cemetery, Wheatland.
Melvin was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Wheatland, Iowa.He was the son of Gustav and Emma (Wolfe) Riedesel.He attended various country schools and was a graduate of Stanwood High School.On April 17, 1943, Melvin was united in marriage to Evelyn Ruth Behrend in Tipton.
Melvin was employed as a truck mechanic for Kirchner Ford Garage in Clarence. He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses in Anamosa.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Evelyn Riedesel of Stanwood; daughter, Mary (Dan) Levsen of Clarence; sons, Robert (Ronna) Riedesel of Clinton and LeRoy (Glenda) Riedesel of Tipton; seven grandchildren;nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Norman Riedesel.
