Riedesel, Glenda Rae
Glenda Rae Riedesel, 59, of Tipton, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in her home, surrounded by her family, from complications of cancer. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Lowell Kleinfelder officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Glenda was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, and was the daughter of Steve and Bessie Turek. Glenda graduated from Alburnett High School and was later united in marriage to Leroy Allen Riedesel on Aug. 19, 1972, in Toddville, Iowa. Glenda owned and operated her own business in Tipton, Alterations and The Village Coffee Shoppe, where she was a seamstress and a barista. She was also a faithful member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Glenda is survived by her husband, Leroy Riedesel of Tipton; daughters, Chanel (Eric) Jones and Stephanie Riedesel of Davenport; sons, Scott (Lisa) of Mount Vernon and Lee of Tipton; five grandchildren; and her brother, Gordy Turek of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Steve and Bessie Turek, and her brother, Gary Turek.
A memorial to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses has been established in her memory.
