Riedemann, Jane
Jane Riedemann, 88, of Independence, died Tuesday afternoon, June 5, 2012, at West Village Care Center in Independence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at a later date.
Jane was born Jan. 12, 1924, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Russell W. and Laura (Main) Greenly. She attended Independence High School, and was united in marriage to Robert Gilson on Oct. 6, 1942, in Independence. Robert Gilson passed away in 1950 and Jane was remarried to Elroy Riedemann on Feb. 13, 1958, at the Little Brown Church. Elroy passed away in 1996. She worked happily for Greenly Development for 31 years; she also loved to collect bells, crochet, and travel with Elroy.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Cathy) Gilson of Independence; three grandchildren, Denny Gilson, Daniel Gilson and Darci Gilson; three great-grandchildren, Dustin and Hannah Gilson and Jordan Hamilton; one great-great-grandchild, Brooklyn Hamilton; and two brothers, Morris and Tom Greenly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Gilson and Elroy Riedemann; four brothers, Oliver Greenly, Russell Greenly, Victor Greenly and David Greenly; and a sister, Edna Dodge.
