Ridnour, Betty Elaine
Betty Elaine Ridnour, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, Iowa. Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Perry.
Betty was born May 31, 1927, in Novinger, Mo., to Anna and Ray Teasdale. When she was six months old, she moved to Madrid, Iowa, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1945. In 1947, her family moved to Perry, where she met and married George Ward Ridnour on Nov. 19, 1950.
She is survived by her daughter, Georgana Ridnour, and her daughters, Grace and Anna; her son, Alan Ridnour, his wife, Mary Carwile, and their daughters, Josephine and Catherine; her brother, Raymond Teasdale and his wife, Jean; her sisters in-law, Wilma Jean Collins and Maxine (Ron) Paullin; special care
giver, Maury Keeley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister, Bea Mowrer, and Bea's husband, Ralph Mowrer.
Betty loved her family, traveling and square dancing. Even with her disease, she had a smile for every one.
