Ricky Lee Strait, 66, of Anamosa, died Monday,
May 15, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at the residence of Ricky and Cindy Strait, 10895 215th Ave., Anamosa.
Ricky was born Oct. 12, 1950, the son of Rex and Joan (Stepanek) Simpson, in Iowa City. He was married to Cynthia Larrimore on June 20, 1970, in Rock Island, Ill. Ricky worked for Truck Country in Cedar Rapids for several years. He was an avid fan of trucks and cars. More than anything, Ricky loved his family and spending time with them.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Strait; six grandchildren, Alicia (Brandon) Black, Natasha Strait, Kameron Strait, Bailey Strait, Morgan Strait and Lillian Strait; three siblings, Darla Simpson, Clint Simpson and Debbie Siggins; uncle, Donald Stepanek; aunt, Wanda O'Connor; daughter-in-law, Renee Dawn (Lonnie) McGovern; and faithful pet companion, Nash Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Strait; and parents.
