Ricky Regene Ellison, 57, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Celebration of life services will be held at North Point in Cedar Rapids on February 8, 2025, at 3 pm.
Ricky was born on January 29, 1967, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Richard and Linda (Joslin) Ellison. He attended Monticello High School. Rick served in the United States Marine Corps. This resulted in him often eating his meals faster than any man needed to and then throwing his open hand on the table saying, "I win, five bucks!". Rick was an incredibly hard-working man. In 1990 he took a chance to start a business (Tri State Tower, Inc.) maintaining communication towers out of the trunk of his car. The company became more successful than he ever expected. Over the years he was able to use his success to help many people and organizations along the way. He was always great at giving relevant advice or just an ear to listen when in need. Rick found joy in riding his Harley, golfing, card games at the casino, spending time with his grandchildren, and winning every game that he ever played. He lived life in the fast lane with the pedal to the metal. His large heart, bright smile, and sarcastic sense of humor will never be forgotten.
Rick is survived by his parents Richard & Renee Ellison, brother Vaughn (Paula) Ellison, sister Melissa (Jason) Bennett, children Tyler Ellison and Megan (Elijah) Hughes, grandchildren Titan, Ashtyn, Adrian, and Lola.
He was preceded in death by his sister Lola Ellison and mother Linda (Joslin) Reed.
