Rickey L. Coppess, 59, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the social hall at All Saints Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two sons, James and Robert; one daughter, Kimberly Coppess (Michael Sorenson); grandson, Maddox Sorenson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick was born March 1, 1958, the son of Willmer and Katheryn Coppess, in Ely, Iowa. He graduated from Prairie High School. Rick married Mary Dolphin on July 16, 1983, in Cedar Rapids. He worked as a security guard for G-4 Security for several years.
He was artistically talented, enjoyed classic cars and proudly served in the U.S. Army.
Rick will forever remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
A memorial fund has been established.
