Rickard, Sally Ann

Sally Ann Rickard, 70, of 4017 20th Ave. SW, Apt. 8, Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center following a short illness. After a private service, Sally was cremated at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include one daughter, Irene A. Rickard; and two sons, Ron R. Bowles and Rick (Shelly) Rickard.

Also surviving is a granddaughter, Bobbie (Jason) Gerels; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, two sisters and her husband.

Sally was born May 25, 1940 in Grinnell, the daughter of Robert and Sylvia Bartman Lippincott. Sally married Gene Bowles and later divorced. She was married again to Bernard E. Rickard. He died in 1966.

She proudly served in the U.S. Army. She also worked at Square D, as well as Iowa News for several years.

She enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, watching the Cubs, pro football, pro wrestling and playing bingo.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and forever in our hearts.
