Rick Andrew Miller, 51, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on February 7, 2026. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Rick was born on September 23, 1974, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Rickey and Joni (Johnson) Miller.
Rick lived life with determination and energy, making the most of every opportunity placed before him. He was widely known for his mechanical skill and willingness to help others, often assisting friends, family, and neighbors with repairs and projects of all kinds. With a strong work ethic and practical mindset, he was a natural problem solver who could be relied upon during difficult times. His sense of humor and ability to balance lightheartedness with seriousness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Cassy Christianson-Miller; his children, Sage Miller and Chelsea (Andrew) Howard, David, Deryck, Dennton, and Cameron; and his cherished grandson, Danté Miller. He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle (Nadir) Demane and Amy Miller; his brother, Jay Larimer; Best friend/Cousin Donny and Aunt Pam Johnson and his brother-in-law, Nadir Demane. Rick held a special place in his heart for his beloved animals, Capone, Sophie, and Batman.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, the Johnson family; his paternal grandparents, the Miller family; his uncle, Scott Johnson; and Misti Grimm.
Rick will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
We are deeply grateful to Mercy Hospice for honoring his final wish to pass peacefully in his home, surrounded by family.
