Jewell F. Richmond, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin Richmond of Cedar Rapids; children, Sandra Perez of Clarksville, Tenn., Jo Ann (Thomas Sr.) Appleby, Jerry W. Lyle and Ricky D. Lyle, all of Cedar Rapids, and Donna Marie (Steve) Childers of Clarksville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight siblings; son, Jimmy D. Lyle; and two grandsons, Thomas Dean Appleby Jr. and Joe “Anthony” Perez.

Jewell was born Oct. 30, 1934, in Erin, Tenn., daughter of Otheiel and Grace (Robinson) Parker. She married Melvin Richmond on March 4, 1978. Jewell loved all her children and grandbabies.
