Richie Ray Rogers, 23, of Muscatine, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Nichols Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Randy Rogers, Patrick Barker, Eric Henderson, Nathan Henderson, Donnie Henderson, Alex Moore and John Kaalberg. Richie was born Feb. 17, 1994, in Muscatine, the son of Rodney and Lisa Griffin Rogers. He was a 2012 graduate of Louisa-Muscatine High School. He was a member of the operating engineering local union No. 234 and he installed pipelines. Richie loved art and drawing. He also loved to fish, boat, canoe and kayak. He enjoyed computers, videos, traveling, concerts, holidays, making money, all sports, riding his motorcycle, was a car enthusiast and loved to spend time with his dog, Bear, his friends and family.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Rodney and Lisa; foster parents, Gene and Sue Langstaff of Wapello; one brother, Randy Rogers of Muscatine; three half siblings, Patrick Barker and wife, Chelsea, Amanda Barker and Tiffany Barker, all of Muscatine; his stepbrother, Gary Holliday and wife, Joan, of Muscatine; and his grandmother, Shirley Rogers of Nichols.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Antionette Rogers.
