Richardson, Robert D. 'Bob'
Robert D. “Bob” Richardson Sr. was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Willis and Maxine Burger Richardson and passed from this life on Oct. 24, 2012, in Mead, Okla., at the age of 68.
Bob graduated from George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, then served his country in the United States Army from 1963 until 1966, when he was honorably discharged. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years and moved to Bryan County. He was a member of the NRA and GPAA and he enjoyed prospecting for gold.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Irene Richardson.
Bob is survived by his children, Robert Richardson Jr. and wife Jennifer of Ashmore, Ill., Wills A. Richardson and wife Wina of Mead, Okla., and Shauna Richardson of Calera, Okla.; brothers, Gary Richardson and wife Mary Jo and Deane Richardson and wife Gae, both of Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Okla., with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at Brown's Funeral Service in Durant, Okla., on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
