Richards, Lorraine B.
Lorraine B. Richards, 87, of Lake Crystal, Minn., died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, Minn. Her funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, with the Rev. Nancy Dreier and the Rev. John Christianson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albert Lea, Minn. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church.
Lorraine was born April 4, 1925, to William and Alma (Larson) Sandstrom in Odin Township, Watonwan County, Minn. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1943. Lorraine married Olaf Richards in July 1947. They were blessed with three sons. Lorraine worked in home health care for many years. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, cooking, and rummage sales. She and Olaf studied the Bible on a daily basis. Lorraine enjoyed feeding people's souls as well as their bodies.
Lorraine is survived by her three sons, Lonny (Gail) of Pistol River, Ore., Steve (Winnie) of Minneapolis and Rod (Hanje) of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; six grandchildren, Nils, Malcolm, Willie, Harry, Claire and Jack Richards; four siblings, Jerry Sandstrom of Lake Crystal, Minn., LaDonna Nygaard of Austin, Minn., Darlene (John) Kotz of Owatonna, Minn., and Norma (John) Christianson of Lakeville, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olaf in 2002; and four brothers, Norval, Loren, McLain and Les Sandstrom.
Memorials may be given to The Navigators, publishers of A Daily Walk Bible study.
