RICHARD WILSON Ryan Richard "Dick" Gene Wilson, 67, of Ryan, Iowa, died peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born on Sept. 23, 1946, the son of Glenn and Marian (Kemp) Wilson. He was raised and educated in the Ryan area. Richard served honorably in the U.S. Army from Feb. 10, 1966, through Jan. 22, 1968, stationed in Germany. After discharge from the Army he returned to Ryan. On May 31, 1969, Richard was united in marriage to Sharon McCann in Ryan. Four children were born to this union. He was a mechanic and retired from American Concrete. Richard loved spending time with his family and enjoyed working on old tractors, cars and socializing with friends at his corner shop. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Wilson of Ryan; his four children, Tim (Karen) Wilson of Foristell, Mo., Tracy (Ty) Traver of Manchester, Kelly Wilson of Cedar Rapids and Kevin Wilson of Ryan; seven grandchildren, Glenn Wilson, Dean Wilson, Hailey Traver, Tyler Traver, Madison Traver, Miranda Wilson and Brett Wilson; one brother, Roger (Kay) Wilson of Ryan; two nieces, Michelle Wilson and Sherrie Wilson; and one nephew, Steve Wilson. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Marian Wilson. Online condolences may be sent to www. leonard-mullerfh.com. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Ryan. Celebrant: the Rev. Joseph Schneider. The family will greet friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home, Manchester, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Scripture Service: 3 p.m. Friday.
