Richard E. Williams, 85, of Marion, formerly of Grand Blanc, Mich., passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Per Richard's wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, officiated by the Rev. Charles Wendt. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Richard was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of Marion; children, Pamela Williams of Marion, Angela Williams of Carey, N.C., Rick Williams of Winterhaven, Fla., Ronald (Pam) Hill of Golden, Colo., and Pamela (Mike Klaasse) Hill-Myers of Broadview Heights, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jeri Poteet.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Williams; and sister, Alice Stump.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, East Central Iowa Chapter, 317 Seventh Ave. SE #402, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
