Richard "Rick" Timmons, 64, of Manchester, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, of natural causes. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Manchester. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Ryan.
Rick was born July 23, 1949, the son of Robert and Betty (Thompson) Timmons. He graduated from Olin High School in 1968. He was united in marriage with Coleen (Lyness) Timmons on Nov. 27, 1971, at St. Patrick's Church in Ryan.
Rick was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He worked at Nelson's Meats in Cedar Rapids for over 30 years.
Rick is survived by one son, Rob (Kara) Timmons of Summit, N.J.; three granddaughters, Madison, Grace and Olivia; his mother, Betty Timmons; siblings, Robert Timmons and JoAnn (Richard) Daubenmier; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Lyness.
Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Timmons; father, Robert Timmons; and father-in-law, Robert Lyness.
