Richard "Dick" Still, 82, of Cedar Rapids, was called home on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Dick's life: 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. The family requests to please wear your favorite Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, Cubs, fishing or bowling attire.
Survivors include his children, David (Christine) Still, Linda (Douglas) Kobusch and Mary (John) Naylor; grandchildren, Brianna, Chelsea, Anthony, Corey, Mason, Rebecca and Jaxson; great-grandchildren, Liam, Connor, Tristan and Aspen; his significant other, Barb Lucky; and sister-in-law, Rose (Glenn) Maas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Lois; and sister, Patricia Hoagge.
Dick was born April 14, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Ellis "Pat" and Leona (McMenomy) Still. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. On June 24, 1955, Dick married Lois Olson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, Iowa. He was a meat cutter, retiring from Hy-Vee after 50-plus years of employment. He attended Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids. Dick was an avid Cubs fan and his life dream was to see the Cubs win the World Series. Thank you Chicago Cubs!
A special thank-you to St. Luke's Hospice for the wonderful care given to Dick.
