Richard "Rick" W. Brown, 66, of Robins, passed away suddenly Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Branson, Mo., while vacationing with his family. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, before the funeral service. Private family burial will be at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by the Marine Corps League.
Rick was born Sept. 25, 1949, in Pomona, Calif., to Burton and Florence (Hill) Brown. Rick graduated from high school from Brookings, S.D., and went on to obtain multiple college degrees in Cedar Rapids. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was united in marriage to Sandra Taylor on March 30, 1996, in Cedar Rapids. Rick retired after 34 years from Rockwell. He and Sandy were snow birds to Black Canyon City, Ariz. Rick loved "fixing" his motorcycles and old cars, spending quality time in the Party Garage and loud music. JUST ONE MORE!
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sandy; and his first wife, Cindy Crotty; loving children, Matthew Brown, Erin (Marc) Chase, Kristen (TJ) Jacobs and Dan (Karen) Hills; siblings, Lonnie (Cynthia) Brown, Dan (Nancy) Brown, Julie (Jim) Gilde, Jan (Greg) Kleinhesselink and Nancy (Tony) Wiles; and five adoring grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
