Richard "Dick" L. Pflughaupt, 80, of Central City, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Mercy Hallmar, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, with funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Darran Whiting. Burial will follow in Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Dick is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Todd Pflughaupt and Troy Pflughaupt; grandchildren, Alyssa (Devin) Cedergreen, Steven Pflughaupt, Chase Pflughaupt, Cole Pflughaupt and Allyson Pflughaupt; brothers, Jim (Carol) Pflughaupt, John (Cheryl) Pflughaupt and Peter (Jeanne) Pflughaupt; and sisters, Linda (Shelby) Foss and Donna (Steve) Brower.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and Stan.
Dick was born March 4, 1937, in Central City, Iowa, the son of Howard and Guelda (Starry) Pflughaupt. On Feb. 21, 1965, in Central City, Dick married Karen Garrett. He was a lifelong farmer until retiring at age 65.
Dick was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Marion.
