Richard O. Edaburn, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Burial will be in Dunkard Cemetery, Midway.
Richard was born Sept. 16, 1928, in rural Toddville, the son of Orval and Ruth (Wright) Edaburn. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from June 16, 1947, to June 16, 1950. He farmed and worked at Cherry Burrell and FMC Linkbelt Speeder. Richard was a 17-year member of Elks Lodge 251, and a longtime member of Solo's Club.
Richard is survived by his son, Greg of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law, Patricia Edaburn; nephews, Dale (Lori) Edaburn and family and David (Mary) Edaburn and family, as well as a special friend, Georgia Roe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Steven; his brother, Melvin; and his niece, Diana Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor's choice of charity.
