Richard Merle Minor, 60, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by love ones, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020, at UnityPoint-St Luke's Hospital. His battle with liver cancer is over and he now is home.
Richard ("Rick") was born on Feb. 25, 1960, to Merle and Veronica (Ryan) Minor. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Richard married Sheryl Boone in 1982. They divorced in 1995. Richard worked as a roofer for D.C. Taylor Co. for several years. He also did factory work until he retired.
Survivors include his children, Amanda Minor and Eric (Li Win) Minor; grandchildren, Ethan, Skylar, Benjamin, RoniLyn, MacKenzie and Gabriel, all of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Jackie (Doug) Stealey and Donna (Steve) Kent, all of Cedar Rapids, Michael Minor of Marshalltown and Mildred Mills of Los Angeles; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; sister, Laree Minor; and nephew, Austin Kness.
Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. We deeply believe we will meet again.
