Richard P. "Dick" McAllen, 74, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, at Mercy Hospital of Franciscan Sisters in Oelwein.
Born July 30, 1941, in Oelwein, Iowa, to Hugh and Eileen (Heth) McAllen, Dick married Maxine Belden on Feb. 17, 1962.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine of Arlington; three sons, Scott McAllen (Angela Schutte), Shad (Mary Ann) McAllen and Ben McAllen; a daughter, Susan (David) Beck of Arlington; six grandchildren, Michael McAllen, Steven McAllen, Loran Beck, Connor McAllen, Courtney Baker and Carson McAllen; three great-grandchildren, Jayla McAllen, Remington McAllen and Anabelle McAllen; half sister, Gloria (Gene) Aylsworth, Wadena; half brother, Art (Dorothy) Eckheart, Arlington; a special aunt and uncle, Velda (Harry) Haldeman, Fairbank; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 8, at St. John Lutheran Church, Arlington, with visitation on Thursday, April 7, from 6 until 8 p.m., and one hour before services on Friday.
Memorials may be directed to the family in Arlington.
Iowa Cremation is helping the family.
