Richard Lee Holscher, 79, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Chaplain Brian Reeves. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Katherine Holscher of Fairfax and Kim (Mike) Kopernik of Cedar Rapids; son, Steve Holscher of Fairfax; four grandchildren, Brittany and Bryan Werling of Fairfax and Matthew and Adam Kopernik of Cedar Rapids; and two great-grandchildren, Carson and McKinley Ward of Fairfax.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Holscher.
Richard was born March 3, 1937, in Belle Plaine, the son of Nile and Maxine Norby Holscher. He served in the Navy as a Naval Airdale from 1955 to 1963. He worked for Goss Graphics, Nissen and Pearson in its assembly and electroplating department, retiring in 2009.
He was a member of Bear Creek Bass Club and North American Fishing Club. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, fishing, hunting and loved all wildlife.
