Richard "Rick" Hensley, 67, of Ankeny, passed away suddenly in Denver, Colo., surrounded by his family. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Ankeny. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Memorial Services of Iowa Funeral Home, 4208 N. Ankeny Blvd., Ankeny.
Rick's working career was spent as an accountant, working diligently, but his greatest passion and accomplishment was his family.
He enjoyed fishing, cooking and music.
Rick is survived by his wife, Hope of Ankeny; daughter, Jennifer of Minneapolis, Minn.; son, Brian (Christina) of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Carol (Bernard) Witting of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby sister, Kathleen; and two older brothers, Alan and Terry Hensley.
Memorials may be made to OLIH Bell Tower fund or to the family for a local parks project.
