Richard Leroy Hartman, 80, of Marion, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Mike) Spina, aka Cathy Hart; grandchildren, Rick (Lindsay) Gallo and Christopher (Johanna Wallace) Gallo; stepgrandsons, Sam Spina and Andruw Spina; great-grandchildren, Faith Mae, and Isaac Brian Gallo; brother, Dan (Rhonda) Hartman; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Everett Mysak.
Richard was born March 18, 1937, in Iowa City, the son of Charles Gene and Dorothy Jane (Dale) Hartman. He married his love, Mary Catherine Neal, on Feb. 6, 1965, in Cedar Rapids.
A fun-loving man, Richard enjoyed playing cards, fishing for catfish and camping with his family. He worked as a city bus driver for the city of Cedar Rapids. Richard was a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; siblings, David John "Jack" (Dorothy Jo) Hartman, Charles Hartman, Donna (Bill) Hood, Vicki (Myron) Raas, Robert (Nancy) Hartman and Nellie Hartman; and grandson, Casey Daniel Gallo.
