Richard Hart, 68, died peacefully Friday evening, Dec. 18, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be 11:30 Tuesday morning, Dec. 22, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa, where friends may call from 10 until 11:15 a.m. Pastor Katie Lowe-Lancaster will officiate at the services. Private family interment services will be in Wilcox Cemetery, rural Anamosa, with military honors.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; three children, Christopher (Michelle) Hart, Danberry, Stephanie Hart, Marion, and Ryan (Kate) Hart, Ely; five granddaughters, Morgan, Kendra, Bailey, Sydney and Delayne; four sisters, Phyllis (John) Ortgies, Montana, Marlys (Rick) Caryl, Central City, Donna (Bob) Hospodarsky, Cedar Rapids, and Leora (Randy) Smith, Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Richard Lee Hart was born Aug. 13, 1947, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Robert and Muriel Warnock Hart. He graduated from Central City Schools in 1965 and then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Richard married the love of his life, Nancy Boll, on June 20, 1970, in Manchester. They just celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Richard spent his early life farming and milking cows on the Hart family Century Farm. In more recent years, he had worked in the aggregate business and managed many area quarries from River City Stone. He retired in 2011.
He loved horses and spent many hours training and riding. He was a charter member of the Springville Riders Saddle Club. He had served on the Linn County Extension Council and the Linn County Dairy Council. He also was a member of Pheasants Forever.
