Richard Green, 75, of Oelwein, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Graveside services will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery in Oelwein. Richard Michael Green was born in Oelwein on July 25, 1945, to parents Clark and Margaret (Reen) Green. He graduated from Oelwein High School, with the Class of 1963. Dick moved to Davenport in 1965 and began employment with Birkley-Small Publishing selling supplies to newspapers. In 1970, he returned to Oelwein and began selling cars at Iowa Motor Co. In 1992, he began selling cars at Birdnow Motor Trade until his retirement in 2000. On Jan. 8, 1983, he was united in marriage with Nancy Walrod at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly.
Dick enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, as well as vacationing in Alaska and Las Vegas. He was a volunteer with Cedar Valley Hospice of Independence and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Dick is survived by his wife, Nancy; his brother, Mike Green of Independence; his sister, Cathy Green of Albuquerque, N.M.; and his aunt, Frances Reen of Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Green; and his sister, Anne Marie Green.
