Rich was born Oct. 22, 1945 in Norfolk, Va., the son of Richard and Evelyn (Deal) Sisco Sr. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1963 and then proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. On July 3, 1968, Rich married Marcia Larson in Cedar Rapids. The couple later divorced, but remained good friends. Rich was employed by Russell Guide as a printer until his retirement.
When not busy volunteering for various groups, Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, drinking coffee at McDonalds with his buddies, sharing “dad jokes” and making the best lefse imaginable. He was also a proud member of the Amvets and American Legion.
Rich is survived by his son, Aaron (Christy) Sisco; four daughters, Brandi (Andy) Maas, Casey (Dusty) Wendt, Mindy Sisco and McKenzie (Jody) Stickels; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart; two sisters, Carol Hinze and Debra Tallman; brother, David (Kathy) Sisco; ex-wife, Marcia Larson; special friend, John Gualtier; and “the best dog ever,” Dolly.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janet Kay; and daughter-in-law, Shannon.
Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Rich and his family. Online condolences may be left at www.teahenfuneralhome.com.
