Richard L. Ebers, 90, of Lowden, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Clarence Nursing Home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden, by the Rev. Daniel Redhage. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with military rites. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Born March 3, 1925, in rural Clarence, he was the son of Alfred and Emma Wenndt Ebers. He married Arla Mae Danielson on March 20, 1955, in Grand Mound.
Richard was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of Clarence American Legion. He was a farmer, liked to cane chairs and loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Arla Mae; son, Steven (Helen) of Beaverton, Ore.; daughters, Pat (Jeff) VonAhnen of Marshalltown, Jane (Doug) Fett of Binghamton, N.Y., and Julie (Ty) Moreno of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; and sister, Ruth (Orville) Hormann of Clarence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John; and sister, Rose Dallege.
