RICHARD "DICK" LIERCKE
Center Point
Richard "Dick" Liercke, 84, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Mercy Hallmar in Cedar Rapids after a short illness. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Center Point Cemetery.
Dick was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Victor and Lena (Kalous) Liercke. He graduated from Marion High School in 1955. On Aug. 31, 1958, Dick was united in marriage to Kay L. Thompson in Anamosa. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. When Dick was younger, he worked at Wilson's Meatpacking and then was a dairy farmer for most of his life. Dick loved to go fishing and fly his plane. He was a member of Farm Bureau and former president of Linn-Jones Farm Service. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Liercke; sons, Mike (Kris) Liercke and Mark (Tina) Liercke, all of Center Point; grandchildren, Zach (Maria) Liercke of Center Point, Ryan Liercke (fiancee, Jordan Timm) of Cedar Rapids, Rachel Liercke of Center Point, Charity Washburn (Eric Tuttle) of Center Point and Brandi (Don) Palmer of Jesup; and great-grandchildren, Ollie and Sullie Liercke and Gabbi and Bradon Palmer.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Virginia Grimes, Lola Anderson and Wilma Boots.
