Richard Dean Frazier, 75, of Cedar Rapids, passed on Nov. 17, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at The Viking Lounge, 971 16th Ave. SW, with friends and family gathering to share fond memories.
Richard (Dick) was born Dec. 28, 1945, to Milford and Elaine (Hartshorn) Frazier in Providence, R.I. The family later relocated to Cedar Rapids. Richard was the father of two children, Kristina and Kevin.
Upon graduating from Jefferson High School in 1965 Richard was employed by Cherry Burrell/Evergreen Packaging for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the UAW Local 1024 and was an arbitrator for the union. Richard was active in sports; bowling, baseball, and softball, a fan of NASCAR, the Indy 500, and local stock car racing, the Hawkeyes, the Chicago Cubs, an avid reader and collector of memorabilia. He enjoyed socializing with many friends and was a very generous fun-loving person who is dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his children, Kristina Frazier of Mesa, Ariz., and Kevin (Laura) Frazier of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren, Stevie Blozvich, Nicolas Blozvich and Bode Frazier; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Blozvich and Sophia Blozvich; sister, Sharon (Charles) Cihla of Marion; niece, Leah (Mike) Stadtmueller; and nephew, Chuck Cihla.
Richard was preceded in passing by his parents, Mildford and Elaine Frazier; grandparents, John and Grace (Burke) Frazier; aunt, Shirley; and uncles, Gerald, Joseph (Dude) and Beryl.
