Richard "Rick" Briggs, 69, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Military graveside services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at Church of Christ United in Winthrop. Burial: Byron Township Cemetery, north of Winthrop. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; two sons, Chris and Benjamin Briggs; three brothers, Leo Briggs, Gary Briggs and Mike Briggs; four sisters: Terry Mazur, Cathy Timmerman, Sandra Briggs and Diane Williams.
