Richard L. Betzer, 91, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Springville, Iowa, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.
Survivors include his sons, Allen Betzer and Phillip (Joyce) Betzer of Phoenix; his daughter, Debra (Edward) Murphy of Marion; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold Betzer; and his
sisters, Nelda Knowlton, Eileen (Jim) Moehnke and Wilda (Chuck) Kress.
He was preceded in death by his former wife and best friend, Orlena Betzer; parents, Harold and Ethel (Dragoo) Betzer; and sisters, Mytra Andrews and Joan Simmen.
Richard was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Anamosa, Iowa. He graduated high school in Central City, Iowa. He married Orlena Iehl, and together made their home in Springville, Iowa. Richard worked at Collins Radio for many years and moved to Arizona in 1972, where he started his family business, Best Metal Fabricators.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
