Richard B. Coleson, 76, passed away January 28, 2025. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 31, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral service 11 a.m., Saturday, February 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Interment with military honors will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gail; sons, Frank (Kim) and Benn (Stacy); grandchildren, Jeremy (Jessica) Coleson, Ryan Coleson Kleinschmidt, Tyler (Bobbi) Coleson, Austin Coleson, Alex Coleson, Sebastian Coleson; step-grandchildren, Garrett Milota, Gracie Milota, Memphis Wilson, Jackson Wilson; great-grandchildren, Beckett, Ezra, Stella, Nova and Delainey; siblings, Linda (Dale) Trott, Kathy (David) Horner, Dan (Bonnie) Coleson, Denice (Tim) Larsen; and sister-in-law, Janice Coleson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dave, and parents.
Dick was born June 2, 1948, in Manchester, Iowa to Boyd and Erma Coleson. He graduated from West Delaware High School in 1966 and served his country during Vietnam in the Army. He was awarded expert marksmanship, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Dick worked for ADM for 38 ½ years, retiring in 2012. He was an avid Hawkeyes fan and would support whatever teams his sons were cheering for.
