Richard A. Dunphy, 54, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Cornerstone Community Church, Manchester, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Arrangements by Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester.
Richard was born March 4, 1963, in Longbranch, N.J., the son of Daniel and Johnny Faye (Scrivner) Dunphy. Richard married Janice Stepanek on Feb. 14, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, and his daughter Dani's encourager and number one supporter. He had a tremendous love for his father and brothers and sisters. He was a project manager for Color, Inc., and a member of Local Union 447 and Cornerstone Community Church. Richard had a strong work ethic and took much pride in a job well done. He will be greatly missed by his family and those whose lives he touched.
Richard is survived by his wife, Janice Dunphy of Manchester; daughter, Dani Dunphy of Cedar Rapids; father, Daniel Dunphy of Colorado; siblings, Michael (Pam) Dunphy of Arizona, Teresa (Tim) Stone of Colorado and John (Destiny) Dunphy of Arizona; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Diane Bielec of New York, Marcia (Les) Lincoln of Iowa, Verna Kay (Mark) Hentges of Iowa, Steven (Darla) Stepanek of Iowa and Mark Stepanek of Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Johnny Faye Buckley; maternal and paternal grandparents; father- and mother-in-law, Vernon and Margaret Stepanek; and his cousin and best friend, Dennis Dove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for an educational fund for Dani.
