Rich, Sandra Conklin
Sandra Conklin Rich, 73, of Bucklin, Mo., passed away May 16, 2012, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo. Services were hold May 19, 2012, at the Ethel Christian Church, Ethel, Mo., with burial at the Bell Cemetery, Ethel.
Sandra was born April 29, 1939, in Keota, Iowa, the daughter of Eddie Verle and Evelyn (Bruegge) Conklin. After graduating in the last class of Roosevelt Senior High School in 1957, she was united in marriage to Duane Rich on June 9, 1957 in Cedar Rapids.
She was a Navy wife living in Coronado, Imperial Beach and Ramona, Calif.; Pensacola, Fla.; and Corpus Christi, Texas, until Duane's retirement from the Navy in 1975. They moved to the Bucklin, Mo., area to pursue their dream of farming and raising cattle. Sandra enjoyed growing flowers, crocheting, feeding the birds and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Steven of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Denise (Larry) Danley of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn Conklin; a sister, Patricia Hartson; a brother, Douglas (Debbie) Conklin, all of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Sharon Pritachard of Ramona, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie, Arlis and Penny; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Verla Butters; an infant brother, Harold Dean; and a sister-in-law, Katherine.
Memorials may be made to the NRA or the Cancer Society.
