Rhinehart, Elizabeth I.
Elizabeth I. Rhinehart, 69, of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, with Father Brian Shepley officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation: 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Paul; her children, Jeffrey (Janet) of Brooklyn, Lisa Flamme (Mark) of Gladbrook, Julie Bracy (David) of Brooklyn, Christopher (Heidi) of Colfax, Amy Van Ersvelde (Jeremy) of Brooklyn, and Paula White (Trevor) of Brooklyn; and 16 grandchildren, Vanessa, Sarina, Keaton Rhinehart, Nicholas, Taylor and Logan Flamme, Chase, Tyler and Nathan Bracy, Jason Rhinehart, Jordan, Baylee, Rylie and Ian Van Ersvelde, and Mitchell and Conner White. Also surviving are her mother, Ferne Cline of Brooklyn; two brothers, Larry Cline and George Cline (Jane), both of Brooklyn; and two sisters, Patricia Miles (Dennis) of Atkins and Brenda Cline (Scott) of Grinnell.
Her father, Francis Cline, preceded her in death.
Elizabeth Irene Cline was born May 18, 1943, in Grinnell, Iowa, the daughter of Francis Cline and Ferne Smith Cline. She graduated from BGM High School with the class of 1961. Elizabeth married Paul Rhinehart on July 7, 1962.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and hosting for the holidays. She actively volunteered at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, for the Meals on Wheels program and at the Brooklyn Activity Center. She spent her quiet time doing crossword puzzles and enjoying her flowers and animals. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
Elizabeth loved her children and grandchildren, and cherished every moment spent with them, especially when they all gathered every Sunday evening at her home for supper.
A memorial fund has been established.
