Reynolds, Nesbeth 'Nebby' I.
Nesbeth “Nebby” I. Reynolds, 66, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center from a short illness. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with Richard Johnson and Richard Reed officiating. Burial will be held Friday following the ceremony at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Nesbeth Inez Reynolds was born March 6, 1947, to Ray and Bernice Akers Hendred in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was united in marriage to David Reynolds. Nesbeth worked as a medical receptionist at PCI for 14 years. She enjoyed collecting elephants, loved plants and most of all being surrounded by her many family members. Nebby was a very kind and caring person and because of her compassion for others she elected to be an organ donor.
She is survived by her loving husband, David; children, Damon (Jill) Shepherd of Frisco, Texas, Anthony (Tammy) Shepherd and Kim Shepherd, both of Cedar Rapids, Brandon (Marcie) Reynolds of Hiawatha, and Bryan, Dacyn and Davina Reynolds all of Dayton, Ohio; siblings, Rae (Marcus) Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Mark Doolin of Denver, Colo., Paul and Stephanie Tillman both of Cedar Rapids, Renee (Tony) McCraney of Virginia Beach, Rhonda (Robert) Wright and Ronald Hendred both of Cedar Rapids, William Adams of Ottumwa and James Adams of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Nesbeth was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Christine.
