Reynolds, Mary Louise Hovey
Mary Louise Hovey Reynolds, born Sept. 28, 1951, died June 29, 2010 at NE Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, following a sudden illness. Mary was proceeded in death by her parents, Oscar and Mona Hovey and John and Mary Reynolds Sr.; and a very special aunt, Solvig Hovey.
Mary worked for the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for nearly 20 years. Mary was also a long time member of the Women's Improvement League of Swisher. Mary was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids and a member of the Lord of Life Church in San Antonio.
Mary married John Reynolds Jr. on March 13, 1971, at the Lucky Mound Church in Rural, N.D. Mary and John spent 19 years in rural Swisher raising their family, until they moved into their dream home in Solon and then retired to San Antonio, Texas, in 2005.
Mary had many hobbies but she loved to bake, plant flowers and most of all play with her granddaughters.
Mary is survived by her husband, John Reynolds Jr. of San Antonio; a son, Matt Reynolds of San Antonio; daughter, Barb Reynolds; and son, Adam Reynolds, both of North Liberty.
Also surviving are three granddaughters, Alyson, Mattison and Emma Faye Reynolds, all of San Antonio; her sister, Linda Keller and husband Darryl of Bismark, N.D.; brothers, Kennith Hovey of Parshall, N.D., and Odell Hovey of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers-in-law, Art Reynolds and wife Donna of Council Bluffs, and Charles Reynolds of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law, Clarice Bell and husband Dave of Washington, Iowa; and a very special uncle, Norlan Rue; not to mention the many cousins, nieces and nephews.
