Reynolds, John J.
John J. Reynolds, a wonderful husband, son and brother, passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at the age of 63, following a lengthy illness.
John was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on Oct. 13, 1947, to James M. and Victoria Reynolds. He was raised in Westbury, Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Carle Place High School. He earned a BBA from Texas A&M University in 1970. Following college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was then assigned to a Reserves unit at Fort Sam Houston. After an honorable discharge from the service, John spent the rest of his career working in finance in San Antonio. He joined San Antonio Armature Works Inc., in 1992 and served as chief financial officer. John is being honored this year as one of San Antonio Business Journal's Top CFOs in 2011.
John was a very wise, hardworking, fun-loving and generous man. He belonged to many organizations and was an officer on the board of directors for his homeowners association.
Survivors include his wife, Lora; his mother, Victoria Reynolds of San Antonio; his brother, James (Susan) and their children, Erin and Mickey of Sicklerville, N.J.; cousin, Carol Clark and her husband, Robert of San Antonio and their children, Jill Lear and Kerry Douglas; aunts, Sylvia Donatelli and Kathleen Rainone of New York; uncle, Anthony Rainone of Florida; parents-in-law, Eldon and Margaret Pugh of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Greg Pugh (Megan) and their children, Kelsi and Taylor of West Des Moines; and friends, Frank and Cindy Arnold, Linda Coria and Bruce Lynxwiler of San Antonio.
Mass: 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 758 W. Ramsey, San Antonio. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Porter Loring North Chapel, San Antonio, with a rosary at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name to the charity of your choice.
