Rex Allen Carter, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died at his home on June 8, 2015. Funeral services: noon Friday, June 12, by Celebrant Mary Morgan, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Visitation: one hour before the service. Private burial: Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville.
He was born April 23, 1950, to parents Leonard and Ruth (Sherman) Carter. Rex worked as a press operator for Cryovac. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and was an avid Cubs fan.
Survivors include his children, Kelley and Kyle; stepdaughter, RanDee (Tom) Hupp; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Betty Carter; and many nieces and nephews.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Gary.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
