The Rev. Gary A. Miller, 64, of Coralville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, after a battle with COVID-19.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Jan. 8, at Grace Fellowship Church in Iowa City, where he pastored for 29 years. A good friend and church member, the Rev. Gerald Knock, will be officiating. Visitation will
be at the church from 10 a.m. to noon before the service. There will be no burial service.

Gary was born on July 15, 1956, in Ottawa, Ill. He is the son of Richard H. and Helen (Gretencord) Miller Sr. and Elda (Forbes) Fife. He married Robin Rossiter on Dec. 5, 1980. Gary graduated from IVCC in Oglesby, Ill., with an Associate's degree in Automotive Mechanics. He worked at Libbey Owens Ford in Ottawa, Ill., before moving to Broken Arrow, Okla., where he graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1990, focusing on Pastoral Studies. He was a member of the Rhema Ministerial Association. He began a pastorate at Grace Fellowship Church in Iowa City, Iowa, in August 1992, and was pastoring there until he passed into glory.
Gary loved fishing, hunting and football. He was an avid history buff, loved studying his Bible and spending time with his church family. He was a coach for the Iowa City Kickers for five years. He enjoyed his daily phone calls with his brothers. And, he especially loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; his son, Ross (Amber) Miller of Fort Riley, Kan.; his daughter, Kelli Miller of Los Angeles; four grandchildren, Henry, August, William and Elizabeth Miller; his brothers, Richard (Pat) Miller Jr., Tom (Lorraine) Miller and Bob (Brenda) Miller, all of Ottawa, Ill.; two aunts, Betty Volkert and Carlene (Ed) Strehl; his mother-in-law, Betty Rossiter; his sister-in-law, Sue Grey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Harry and Elenore Miller, Bessie Gretencord and Miriam Forbes; many aunts and uncles; his father-in-law, Bob Rossiter; and brother-in-law, Mark Rossiter.
He will be greatly missed!
