Renee was born on April 28, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Robert and Dolores Smith. She graduated from Kennedy High School and attended Kirkwood until she became ill. Renee had many jobs, she worked for the American Legion as an auxiliary president, building manager and town club manager along with the office manager. She also worked as a bartender at the Broken Drum, E Avenue Tap and Mom and Pop's. Renee also worked for Willowbrook, now known as Silver Pines, as an activity coordinator. She was not afraid to work. She would work more than 70 hours a week. Renee loved to work and keep busy. She also loved her family and extended family very much.
